I have a pentium M 2.0gh, but it's running at 798mh.
Why?
Need any more info?
sometimes it would go to 1.8gh or 1.7, but then i'd delete "Temporary internet files" and it would go back to 2.0. That's not solving this problem though. Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's hard to use applications/programs when it takes forever. _________________ Don't Die, Suck Pig!

What?
How are internet files connected to your clock speed?
What are you using to monitor your processors speed? _________________ "A (automobile) cabin should be an office and the business should be driving..." Ben Wojdyla jalopnik.com |

ok...
if you are looking at your clock spead in your my computer properties STOP DOING THAT!
chips wind down when not being used, and that shows up in your properties so stop looking there.
look in your bios or dl a program that will tell you. Also go to the nearest book store and buy a dummies book so you can better know your computer so you dont ask these kinds of questions |

lol figures
go into your bios and read what your proc is at there, uninstall that other program before you hurt your computer
what your bios says is the correct speed of your computer
windows will adjust it to the max set in bios as needed. |

I was curious as to why it says 798mh and how it remains the same during gameplay or intense applications. It used to say 2.0gh, 2.0gh in windows. _________________ Don't Die, Suck Pig!

Check in your power settings (same tab as where you change your screen saver) and see if you set it to low power. Like Kalthrax was getting at, either you set it to the lowest stepping in cpufrequtils OR you set your computer to the lowest power setting and its using the lowest possible stepping to conserve power.
Use CPU-Z to check your clock speeds and whatnot. _________________ Carl says: Fricken awesome
