Noob needs lots of help
ok, so I need a good gun I'm an all around type of guy so I don't really care what type it is. My only criteria being it has to be accurate if its a sniper or moderately accurate and a good rate of fire in case of an AEG.
Known Potential Candidates:
Snipers;
UTG MK96 bolt action
JG Snow Wolf M99
BAR-10
WELL MB05
AEG's;
UTG Shadow Ops M14
JG T3-K1 G3 or the ECHO-1 ver.
JG MK36
echo 1 g36c
Any suggestions welcome as well as cross-examination of the candidates stated _________________ Oh God, one more time and I swear.....I might just have to strangle someone and you'll be the first. |

I wouldn't buy anything classic army.
I've owned several sportline models, and seriously dude, nothing BUT problems.
if youre gonna go drop $170(is that what they are now?) on a gun that won't last a month you're better off going to way of the G&G combat machines.
as for utg i'd stay clear from that too (Under The Garbage)
the Bar 10 is an awesome platform for a sniper rifle after some numerous upgrades.
my recomendations for a dude just starting out
go to gamepod tell them youre budget and go from there
i've got a GP field ready 416 armor tech custom and i love it!
the G&G combat machine is a great rifle too, a little underpowered with .25s but you can drop a stronger spring in it
and if you need a shotgun or a few gas handguns let me know im selling a FEW _________________

I have both the UTG L96 and the JG G36 they are both amazing guns. The sniper is very accurate, and shoorts very far. I love it. Either would be a great buy _________________

Funny you say that I remember a few guys here testing CA sportlines, they tossed them off 2 story roof, and they still worked. Micky and MikeD did about every thing that you could do to kill one and it still worked.
Back to the topic at hand...
If you want to do it right, save buy a TM m4, save some more and toss a hurricane MBK on it and own a kick ass gun that will last. Toss a spring and bushing kit in it and own fools. _________________ I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!

Old CA's are nice cosmetically, there internals are garbage.
and i completely agree with the TM M4 _________________

I had a old CAm15spc back in the day....with the old back gear box......it was awful...
As much as I hate CA's they have come a long way over the years when it comes to internals. CA externals rock and if your gonna build a mp5 they are the only way to go. _________________ I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!

yea it can be kind of hit and miss, I use CA silent head sets and nozzles and bevel gears. They are on par with systema parts IMHO. Ca motors get the job gone, but they are noisy . CA sector gears and spur gears are noisy and heavy and seem to but more of a draw on the motor during motor and gear break in.
TM pistons are still the best around...bar none. _________________ I shoot Table Gypsies on sight!

The JG/Echo 1 G36 line is great. That's the best option out of anything on your list so far.
I still have a black CA gearbox lol...it's a collector piece so $100 and it's yours! Ha. _________________ Check out my FS thread! Lots for sale! |

| I was in your shoes a couple weeks ago and ended up spending more upfront to get a good gun, KWA M4. But everything I've heard about the sportlines, is they either last a long time or they break within a month, and if you buy it from AEX then there warranty has you covered, so either way you are good to go. I intend to get a sportline for my girlfriend in the near future as the light weight is better for her opposed to my KWA. |

.......Christ is this going to be on the final? It always surprises me that people can be experts in stuff like this i had to learn all the parts in paintball but damn this is more way more complex.
ok lets put it this way i have a tendency to get into things and then leave(paintball,Archery,Kendo,Judo ect.) what i want is to be able to play decently but not have to pay an arm and a leg to do it in paintball i was a sniper and I was good what i really want is an AEG Sniper with good accuracy i dont care if its only semi-auto only M14's seem to be the line I want to go down but they dont have a very good track record of being reliable the one I want is the Field Ready M14 JAE from gamepod (Thanks Inferno) but i can go with a bolt action if I have to
oddly the M99 feels kinda little in my hands _________________ Oh God, one more time and I swear.....I might just have to strangle someone and you'll be the first. |

we have plenty of photographers. if you wanna take pics knock yourself out.
As to your question, your best bet would save and get a tm or KWA. If you dont want to get the CA sportline. I had one and its on its third owner right now and it works great still. _________________ WORST CAR LUCK EVAR!!!!

years of trial and error is how most airsoft players get there knowledge, i know which m14 youre talking about, look into the G&G M14, you can always install a body kit and scope mount on it later.
airsoft is VERY different from paint ball.
airsoft snipers are few and far between because of the money it takes to get there gun to legally engage targets out to 200 feet and actually have accuracy and consistency _________________
